The Chicago Outfit

Containing approximately 20,000 words and 180 photos, The Chicago Outfit is the only complete history of organized crime in Chicago, covering the period from 1900 until the book was released in 2003. It focuses on the Chicago Mob’s leadership and business activities as well as the violence and political corruption they use to achieve their ends. The final chapter examines why the Outfit has been the most successful of the Cosa Nostra crime families and why it has declined since its zenith around 1960.
